Kurdistan Region of Iraq
Department of Archaeology, University of Reading
5th May 2016
In May 2016, I was invited to give an illustrated talk about the heritage and archaeology of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq at the University of Reading’s Department of Archaeology.
My subjects included the Erbil citadel, which claims to be the world’s oldest continuously inhabited city, the Yazidi shrine of Lalish, and canals built by the Assyrian King Sennacherib to water his gardens in Nineveh.
