Common Ground

In my role as heritage consultant to the Ministry of Culture, Saudi Arabia, I was asked to contribute to the exhibition ‘Common Ground’ hosted in Boulevard City, Riyadh from 18-31 December 2024.

The exhibition highlighted the shared heritage and cultural connections between Saudi Arabia and Iraq. My contributions focussed on the historical Darb Zubaydah pilgrim route from Kufa to Makkah, the traditional costumes of Saudi Arabia and Iraq, and the music of ancient Mesopotamia.
